A6 Trans operating temp range
anyone know it? I was driving in town stop and go and trans temp went to 182(ish) degrees. I never checked it before so I dont know if that is normal or not.

I've run as high as that in stop and go traffic when the outside temps were over 70 degrees but in the dead of winter trans temps might only be around 140 degrees or even less while steady on the highway.

Remember the trans fluid runs through the radiator so a temp equal to or slightly higher than the coolant temp can be expected.
