I'm currently in the midst of planning my upgrades on a 2007 Z51. I've wondered if an aftermarket MAF is worth it. Where in my plan should I think of picking one up?

I was in your shoes once and asked about a year ago if I should get one...
Most common response: SNAKE OIL
If you do research on what it actually does, you will find that by physics alone it is incapable of the HP gains it claims.
If you wanna spend the money in similar place... Do a ported intake or throttle body and you will have made a better financial decision.
i bought it for about $399.99. the only difference i saw was that my car was using too much fuel. read the forums here and took the freaking thing out the same day. i don't know why they would provide false advertisements.

This is what I was starting to think. There really isn't much info out there to support their perf claims. The ported throttlebody is definitely coming in the future.
My tuner took mine out and then then advised me thathe had replaced it with a spare he had in his shop as this one was not worth the cost of material that it took to make it.
Not to 'jack this thread but does the removal of the screen add or take away anything? I have seen some sigs that say the MAF screen has been removed, I would be concerned as something may get into the engine....

granatelli sells junk. None of it works. He's been around along time using his Dad's great name. The only conclusion I can come to, is there
are still many dumb or uninformed people out there believing his sell's pitch, because he's still in business. Go figure!!!
stock maf WILL support 500rwhp NA and more FI.I had a friend put a blower on a LS1 and the shop who did the work took off the Granatelli and put the stock back on.
A MAF is a MAF is a MAF. All it does is meter airflow. Without calibrating the tune to the MAF you're just guessing at what will happen. It may make the car run leaner or richer and your stock tune may have already been running rich or lean to begin with. The best thing you can do is calibrate whatever MAF you have so it's reporting accurate airflow and you are achieving the commanded AFR in PE. The stock screened MAF is good for well over 600 RWHP.
