With the recent back ordering of Firestone Wide ovals
I now have bald front tires and new rear firestones cause the rears came in and the front did not.
My question is I can't wait a month for Firestone, so can i put non runflats on the front or is that a really bad idea? Or should I just get a cheaper run flat?
I don't think there is a cheaper run flat. I have Firestones RFT, and there a very good tire. If they disapear from the market I'll go with kumhos. There not a run flat, but there a great tire. Had them on my C5. Any how, how many times have you had or even heard of a blow out with the tire technology of today. It just doesn't happen very often. You might get a nail and a slow leak. So you put more air in the tire and drive somewhere to get it fixed.

Mixing with non RF and RF tires will create more imbalance with the cars attitude, cornering and braking, and seems an unnecessary risk. For short term or emergency use maybe, but keeping in mind the potential for instability.
I have mixed RF brands front and rear on my C5 in past years without any problem, and that's what I'd do in your situation.
