If this is a Coupe...
Take four screws out of center console and remove.
Remove airbag status cover that is near the center console and pop it off by putting something in the bottom and popping it off from the bottom (this is the piece where the selective ride system would be as well I believe).
You will then find 2 screws there so remove those.
After that pull up on the e-brake boot and find two screws there that you need to remove. I believe that is it. There is a siding piece on the passenger side that will come off once you take those two screws out from under the e-brake boot area.
Best places to pull on it would be places that don't seem flimsy. Don't use too much force and take your time. If something doesn't seem like it wants to budge something is still holding it up so see if you can find the area that is being help down.
Also notice that I only listed screw areas. You still need to remove the hazard "harness", heated seat control "harnesses", Cig. lighter "harness", Traction control "harness" and the Cig. outlet "harness" inside the center console.
Any questions?

I installed an MGW shifter and there were some excellent posts here on the forum w/pictures that guided me through each step of the process. The tricky part for me were the plug removal on the electrical connections. If you run into issues, let us know....good luck!
