I can't really vouch for its usefulness as far as tuning the car but it worked great to turn off the o2 sensor code when I put headers on and it works great to pull and clear codes, which is worth it to me. It also lets you record data so you can drive around and see whats happening and better tune it. You can actually custom tune it yourself but you need to download some software from Diablo.
If you buy used be sure to have the seller clear it from his vehicle or else it is of no use to you.

I purchased a Predator a few weeks ago. You can download the updates and viewer software from the Diablo web site. I had to buy a USB to serial cable adapter and a 120-12V power supply from Radio Shack to transfer files to/from my computer. I had also changed tire sizes on my car, so one of the support guys at Diablo (MikeL) made a custom tune for me and emailed it for free.
I like being able to monitor and record data from the car.
I do not like not being able to make the tire size adjustments myself (even though the advertisements say you can). The canned tune that was in it seems to have picked up my mileage and the car runs well.
One other irritant, my car had the original GM tune and GM has come out with an update. The Predator would not work on my car until I had the dealer update the GM tune to the most current (that was a real pain!)

The Predator is a good tool, far from great, but it is very good. As was stated in previous posts, it is great to clear codes and general diagnostics. Also you can go to any CMR dealer and have a custom tune written just for your car. Conversely you could perform some data logging and modify the required parameters yourself. On the diablosport website are some tools that make it easy to interpret the data and even tell you what you should change. My take on this is that you are actually writing a custom tune yourself, saving you the time and money it would take to have someone else do it for you.
On the flip side of that, you have to understand what you are doing and be willing to make the changes yourself, I am not so sure I want to do that to mine.

If your gonna get one get the SLP version Diablo Predator III.
Been messing with mine for a couple of days amazing this one is itiot proof (your talking to 1) It has 4 canned tunes holds your stock tune
and then you can get as wild as you want and even download tunes off the website or share with your friends

I don't know about 21hp increase?????? but
After I installed my CAI and the Corsa Extremes on my 05 vert, I downloaded the Diablo. The most noticable change was in throtle response. But I also noticed a small decrease in gas mileage.
