Default Vararam Question!!!!!!!!!

I just Installed My VARARAM on my 08 a6 Z51 Corvette and I was Running 12.22 to 12.45 in the 1/4 and I took the car to the track yesterday and I could not get out of 12.45 to 12.50 I am traping at 115.xxx and that was the MPH on my 12.20 pass. Where is the problem coming from? I had the car tuned before the vararam and ran that 12.22 and running 12.22 to 12.45 constant. Anyone has any suggestions? It is really frustrating to spend $500 on something and its making you run slower I have heard a lot of good success with this air intake But do I have to make any other adjustments after installing the Vararam

Most unfortunate but you should have a tune after vr installation. Did you get a dyno sheet from the first tune. If so what were the numbers ?

Default dyno numbers

386 RWHP and 388 torque. I figured since I was Running Richer the fact of flowing more air would not affect it..

Did you allow the computer time to adjust? I think it takes up to 200 miles.

Wow that isnt possible Vararam magically adds 40-50hp at the track. How can this be?

But seriously you should have seen around .1 and 1mph difference if all other variables were the same. I wouldnt think you would need any significant tuning changes after installing a CAI...

Can you post the best two slip breakdowns from both trips?

Default times

the sixty foot changed very little (worse) and the 8th (worse) but constant 115.XXX MPH you can see the 12.20 slip on the 1/4 mile challange thread

C'mon now ....but it likely DOES add at least 20rwhp at the track/at speed on average.

Likely closer to a .2 reduction in ET and a 2mph gain in most cases.
I've yet to hear of ANYONE actually running slower after a proper Vararam install (even if they didn't give the car a few hundred miles first to 'learn in' which IS recommended), I think the weather/heat was likely the culprit in this particular case.

everything the same just the temperature changed from low 60 to low 70's and I am sure it works cause I have heard alot on the forum that it works great but I am just wondering if I need to adjust tunning on it or just run the car a little more cause I installed it thursday night and we ran the car friday night with like 50 miles driven after install. It just almost felt like there was no change it felt like it stayed the same number wise. I dont know just trying to figure out if I need some adjustments on the tune

It did on mine... I went from a 12.4 at 115 to a 11.7 at 121.... Sounds like 40-50hp to me....

My Corvette ran 3/10ths of a second slower when there was about a 20 mph head wind. Was there more wind on your slower runs?
Atleast your mph hasn't changed, that means your not losing power. It has to be the conditions I.M.O + you said it was 10* warmer, I'm sure that didn't help either.

121 to 115 no clearly you gained 60-70whp lol. Remember all else must be the same, and even then there are differences.

That 10 degrees can make a difference but the car still should've run quicker with a Vararam in the low 70s than it did without one in the low 60s.

Here's what I would do in a case like this:

Disconnect the battery overnight.
Reconnect the battery and drive the car around getting on it once in a while once it's warmed up and try to get over 200 miles on it (not necessarily all on one drive LOL) before going back to the track.
Try and pick a day (night?) to go to the track where the weather is similar to that time you went when it was low 60s.
Have fun.

We also need to know the barometric pressure. High pressure day in the 60s is a good .2 faster than a low barometric pressure day in the 70s.
