The RR tire was losing pressure so I took in to my favorite Chev dealer in the twin cities (Lupient Chev).
A quick look and there was nail in the tire That meant no more HPDE. Since the threads were almost gone, I opted for changing all four to Mich PS2's. The cost $1800 complete with alignment
This seems high except that no other Chev dealer would do it for less than $2200. Thanks Lupient.
The best Part, the ride on the PS2's is awesome - quiet, sticky, much better sterring feel and since it rained Thu an excellent grip on wet roads. Did I mention quiet?
Do you have run craps? dump them for Mich PS2's. It is worth every penny.

You and me are in the same boat: I nailed a pothole that ruined my drivers side front, the tires were going bald, I got Michelin Pilot Sport PS2 from Tire Rack for $1400 and paid another $200 to mount and balance them AND to do a full alignment in the car.
Like yourself I noticed a LOT less road noise, less harshness on bumps and MUCH more traction, both in the dry and in the wet. It took about 100 miles for the mold release compound to wear off and now I can go wide open throttle in 1st and not break lose!
I would recommend these tires to anyone: there is a reason they come sock on the new 650HP ZR1

24lbs lighter in stock size compared to the Eagle F1 supercards.
Nothing will be as good as a drag radial, but they hook up a LOT better than my runflats did. On the downside, when you do make them spin, they also wheelhop more.

1.87 60ft on runflats, best for rfs, but a one time deal.
1.86 60ft on PS2s, consistant , duplicated several runs in a row.
1.85 60ft on MT DRs , consistant in mid to high 1.8's
you can lower the psi in the PS2s to 24psi cold before hitting the track to eleminate the wheel hop concern, as well as doing a smokey burnout. With the runflats, the lowering of psi helped alomost nothing as the sidewall was like stone.

Although I went with Toyo T1Rs. I went to 19" front and 20" rear with my new wheels. At the time, the Michelin Pilot Sport PS2 in that size were not in production and there was no projected date yet. From what I hear, they're still not. Maybe by the time I wear these out...
IMO almost any non-runflat will be an improvement. I was thrilled to finally get a responsive, sticky performance tire with no wheel-hop!

Almost any new RF tire will be quieter, smoother and grippier than an old and hardened wore out RF. Plus you don't lose the other good attributes of RF tires when switching to non-RF tires. I would take careful before and after experiments to quantitate the difference.
Expect accelerated tire wear, grip comes with a price. I ran through the rears at 8,000 miles on the M3 with the Pilot Sports. Thats with no launching or wheel spin.

Wow. I thought these would be good for about 20,000 miles; that's how long the stock run flats laster on my car by the time they were bald... I guess we will see.
Have the PS2's on my ProCharged C6. Great summer tire. Winter comes, and they'll try to kill you! Any temps below 40 degrees and the grip is gone, and they will not recover from an oversteer slide. Period. I wiil change to some kind of winter tire before next winter. Bad part about living in Tennessee is that one day it's 70 degrees, next day is 25 degrees.
Excellent choice of tire I just wish they were cheaper, but what can you do. PS2's are the best tires I've ever owned hands down.
I will buy again and again.
