If you do Kooks, you have to go 7\8s because the port shapes don't match on the 3\4s
So this is bad information? Not surprising...

I'm very happy with my Kooks Headers. For my C6 I'm thinking of going with LG Pro, just to switch it up. Both are amazing headers as well as A.R and others I'm sure power is similar

This is a reason that Kooks makes the stepped header. 1-3/4" primaries open up to 2" You can keep your torque down low and gain a lot on the upper end.

05-08 LS2 & LS3 FULL LENGTH "STEPPED" HEADER

Also for Z06: 06-08 LS7 FULL LENGTH "STEPPED" HEADER

Check out www.Melrose.com. The headers come jet-coated, the fit is dead on, and life time warranty. The sound is devine. Any of the top rated headers will work for you. I just happen to like the Melrose because the headers look awesome when I show the car.

I've got my AR 1 7/8" coated headers on the way. Basically everything I have read is... you really can't go wrong with Headers, no matter which ones you decide on. As for size... like mentioned before it really depends on how much power you will ultimately produce. If you have a LS2 or LS3 and don't plan on doing FI or Nitrous I would say 1 3/4" will be fine. If it's an LS7 and you plan on adding a cam some day I would say 1 7/8".

Default Headers

Kook's Melrose, Dyna TechSuperMaxx, Lg, all produce numbers that are nearly the same HP numbers by one or 2 HP. Look for fit and finish, as, for coating "inside" well the coating is intended to block heat. As for HP gains, I would bet that less than 2% of the people who have headers have had there car dyno'ed before and after adding this equipment. And if they did they would see the minimal increase that was truely gained, what you need to concern your self with is quallity not quanity, quanity is gained by other sever mods.
