Default Fire Extinguisher Mount

I'm looking for some different chioces of Fire Extinguisher Mounts.

I found the BK front seat mount..... does any other manufacture make a mount like this? I'm looking for something that would be easy to remove in and out as this would only be needed on race days.

Looking for your input.

Check Livermore Performance and/or Safecraft...I believe they have some different styles.

I'm actually looking for a fire extinguisher mount now....I will either mount it to my BK harness bar or most likely, down low in front of the passenger seat.

I've got a fire extinguisher now with a quick release wall mount. I have to see if it's acceptable but I could probably mount it to the harness bar with band clamps.

Let us know what you end up doing. Good luck.

Gman-

I just made one for open road racing. Cost me about 15 bucks. I can snap some photos for you later when I get home if you want.

1. Home Depot, 16 gauge steel piece, about 6 in wide, and 12 in long. 6 bucks.

2. Metal fire extinguisher bracket from these guys- mine was for a 2lb bottle, but they have ones for all sizes- cost me $10.
https://www.selectsafetysales.com/p-...et-466401.aspx

3. One cutting wheel on my 4" grinder- maybe a buck or two.

4. I beveled the edges and rounded the corners, so no sharps, and painted flat black with some spray paint in the garage.

4. I'm not an artist, but here is what it looks like. Pride of making my own bracket, and some dough in my pocket for gas.

Hope this helps. Took me maybe 30 minutes, and I felt very "Monster Garage" while doing it. I bent the tabs on a 2X4 with a hammer on the floor of my garage. Easy stuff.

I can remove this piece by loosening the two seat bolts, takes maybe 5 minutes.

I have been told about one the slid in the tracks of the seat slide with having the seat all the way back (passenger side) to remove power the seat forward and it will slide right out!!!! I may have to make this one myself......... I like this idea of easy in and out

scottycards... shoot a few snaps and show us what you got!

Gman,

Sorry, didn't see your post last nite, and I'm back at work. Will do tonite.

If you're not in a particular hurry, I'd be happy to make one for you- all you'll have to do is attach the metal bracket of your choice.

I have some time on Sunday, and could mail to you. Will post pics this evening for you. Just let me know.........it's a clean install.

Aluminum? Gettin' fancy on me. Mine is 16 ga steel, about .060". You should use diamondplate for ultimate bling factor. Hmmmmmmmmm...........

The satisfaction of making your own, coupled with the savings, is very rewarding, and makes for good conversation at the track with your buds.

Here you go:

And a final addition- my <$20 camera mount. I bought a window-mount spotting scope holder at Sportsman's Warehouse ($12.95) that my camera screws onto that clamps right on to this little gem......couple of U-bolts with shrink tube, a mousepad scrap under the plate for vibration dampening, and great video from in the car!

Finally, what does all this work (HA!) get me? The satisfaction of passing tech to run up to 165MPH (which we did) at the Big Bend Open Road Race last weekend!
