Default 180 degree T stat from Hypertech

I was going to buy Hypertech 1015 180 degree Thermostat, their catalog says it fits 2002 or earlier LS1's. Will this work on my C6 Z06?

I had an 01 Z06 and had a 160 thermostat but I felt it took to long for the car to warm up.

Vendor recommendations OK too. Thanks in advance!

just open some boxes at the local auto parts store and find one that fits for under 2$.

One of the down sides of a 160°. I switched my OEM stat to a 180° and tunned and am pleased with the results.

I'm too lazy to do that. Do you have a part number?

Bad advice. They probably won't have the type required. It is different from most other cars.

I stove tested several brands of tstat and the only ones that opened correctly were the stock one and the Lingenfelter 165. I'm not sure what your goals are but I didn't see any difference in running temp vs stock with a 180 stat.

Your Z06 has 186.6 degree stock. what do you think you're going to gain with 6.6 degrees, besides nothing. I have run 160's LS motors since 1999. never a problem. Put a 160 in. So it takes more time. Are you in a hurry? The long range benefits far out weigh the extra time it takes to heat the motor.

Get one for a "late LS1". Mr Gasket brand works great, $17.00 special order from any local auto parts store.

Thanks!

ANY VENDOR ON HERE I.E. ECS,LPE,CALLAWAY can sell you a 160 stat for around 25-30 bucks shipped. Then you get a DIABLO and adjust the fans to come on sooner and thus the car runs cooler. They tell me it makes a little power or something, but I'm not 100% convinced!
