Default HELP!!! Vararam Install / Performance Questions

I own 07 z51 with 500miles on it at the moment. Yesterday I installed Vararam I purchased from RPI and now I have some questions that I hope you can answer for me.

1. The kit came with the following hardware 2 Hose Clamps, 2 Bolts, Manual, Template, Air Filter and the two piece Molded Intake. Since I have the Z51 option should I have gotten any extra brackets??? ( I was able to install the CAI without them) If so what are the brackets for.

2. Once I installed the new intake, I drove the vehicle just about 40 or 50 miles and noticed lack of Torque in the lower RPM range and some improvement in the high RMP range. During normal city driving 55MPG the trans is homing for the right gear - 4th, 5th and 6th. It is trying to get to the 6th gear but once there ever slight elevation change and it drops to 5th. This was the high point with the OEM intake, it would get to 6th and stay there with enough torque to accelerate without downshifting. THE BIG QUESTION IS IF THIS IS NORMAL???? If not, will this improve over time???

3. Will the Throttle Body Spacer improve the low end torque??? I did not purchase the TB Spacer with the unit and wondering if I should have.

Your help is greatly appreciated

I also PM'd Josh from RPI to see if he has any feedback from his customers ( Great guy to deal with, very professional ! ) and I will post his reply here.

Thank You!

Dejan

UPDATE: VR TECH SUPPORT HAD ME REDO A STEP I HAD MISSED _ DISCONNECT HE BATTERY CABLE! COMPLETLY MY FAULT FOR MISSING THIS STEP IN THE DIRECTIONS. I HAVE SINCE DONE JUST THAT AND THINGS DID IMPROVE. I HAVE JUST OVER 20 MILES SINCE THE RESET AND TORQUE IS STILL NOT WHERE IT NEEDS TO BE HOWEVER PER VR THE LEARN PROCESS ON 07 A6 IS THE LONGEST AND NOT UNUSUAL TO TAKE UP TO 300 MILES TO LEARN. I WILL KEEP YOU POSTED!!!!

Check your connections to the maf or mas whatever it's called.Make sure it's tight. The install is pretty straight forward, except for the cutting, it's easy!

I would have to agree and say something is not right. If you read on the instructions it also says that the performance will be diffenent and will improve the more you drive it. I know this to be true I have one myself and love it.
