Default Retune??

I put a Callway Honker on my 07 C6 manual with cam and Z06 after market exhaust from headers back. Do I need to retune my car b/c of the Honker or will I be ok if I didn't?

Thanks,
Andrew

If it runs alright, then you probably don't have to, but by not tuning it not only are you missing out on a lot of power, you're also missing out on the efficiency and driveability benefits; you may even get better gas mileage.

I'm sure you won't regret it if you do tune it.

If you are running a MAF based tune shouldnt the MAF pick up on the small amount of increased VE without having to have it retuned?

The car will do some addaptive learning via the O2 feedback, and the increase in hertz from the maf, but it will not do the job as well as a pro tune will.

I agree, but talk to your tuner. He may cut you a deal.

With my experience with exhaust and tuning, your car will run slighly richer... however the 02 sensors will ofcourse fix this at part throttle...

and if the 07 computer is anything like the 08 computer it will reduce the fueling by the same amount at WOT... so it'll get you extremely close to where you want to be. I dont' think a retune is warranted, especially at full price.

I would also change to a 160 thermostat before you have it tuned. This way the tuner can change when the fans come on to get you the maximum performance out of your mods.
