Default Picked up a 05 c6....problems

Well I picked up a beautiful 05 Vette on Thursday in Alabama and drove it back to Tx on Friday. Very nice car with a few I hope common problems. Seeing if you guys have heard of them and can help me address them.

1. Dead pixels in the cluster. Just a few but its hard to make out what it says at times.

2. When I filled the car up and topped it off the 1st time the engine light came on and it read "service fuel system" on cluster message. Also the gas gauge goes from empty to full, empty to full over and over. After about 20 miles it stops, Im assuming the level goes down enough that it make it act normal again. 2nd fill up I just let the pump stop it and didnt top it off, same problem though that went away after about 10 miles. I noticed on 2nd fillup that the gas cap is kinda loose feeling and seems broken alsmost....

That seems like it so far. I love the car, these are just annoying problems. Thanks!! I'll get pics up asap.

The gas cap not sealing correctly has caused service engine lights to come on, lots of posts on that topic. As you found out when you fill em up you should never try to top them off, one click and your good to go. Minor issues, congrats and enjoy the new ride.

Sometimes a can of techron added to gas can clean deposits off the sensor. At least it worked in my Suburban. Also some of these fuel level problems are somehow fixed through software, so I'd check with a few dealers, or ask more questions here.

Popping could be roof noises from movements. Take it off and use silicone grease at all mating points and surfaces and pins. Reseat and tighten.

And also have the dealer check and make sure the roof delamination recall was performed. A delaminating roof also pops.
