I did not have to remove the condenser bracket. First time I mounted the lower unit, and sat the upper unit on, it was so far off that I was worried. Didn't think it would ever fit. About 20 minutes later after adjusting the red mounting bracket to the top of the slots, cutting a little more of the shroud, and switching the long hose (between the unit and the MAF) for the short one, it fit just fine. I'm pretty sure it's not hitting the hoodliner, but I need to drive it around a bit and check for marks.
I still expect to have to tweak a little and maybe trim the angle cut hose to get it just right.
My advice is to remove the lower unit, try some different positions for the red bracket attachment to the unit, try both of the mounting holes into the frame (I used the higher ones), make sure you have the angle cut hose on the throttle body (I assume you installed the TB spacer) and the shorter of the two remaining hoses between the MAF and the unit.
I had the same concerns when I put a Vararam on my 08 Z51. If you do a search on "Vararam installation" you will find one that clearly shows the way to mount the bracket for the cooler. It's working great on mine. Someday I need to figure out how to post pictures and I'll put mine up.
Anyway, good luck & enjoy the new found horsepower and improved response.
