hi all, well as i posted a week or so ago.i had orange county corvettes reprogram my shift points on my c6 a6.on the streets it works good.it holds 1st and 2nd til about 2000 rpm and 5th till about 62 mph.so overall i was happy with the tune.well i took the car to irwindale dragstrip yesterday and to be honest i did not even think about the tune.because of the minor changes we made to it.well first pass did not go well.it felt like i was running bad gas or the car was getting to much gas.twice down the run it loaded up and kind of stalled for a split second and the went.needless to say i was unhappy.as i went back to wait for my next pass, then i thought about the tranny tune.and it sort of made sense when i thought about it. went on the second run and watched my rpm gauge.well low and be hold the car was shifting well into the redline and bounceing off the rev limiter!it was shifting at like 6900 rpm.i tried my last pass with the car in D instead of S to see if it made any differance.nope it still went to about 6900 rpm bounced off the limter and then shifted to the next gear.i am going to take my car back to them on wensday.but i was hoping that some here on the forum that uses hp tuners might some idea as to want table needs to be changed so this does not happen any more.i can always just have him tune it back to stock ,but i like how the cars when driven normally.the problem seems to be in WOT.thanks for any help\ideas with this problems.

What's happened is that they probably didn't set up all of your WOT shift points correctly. As shown in this picture, there are a bunch of different settings that they need to make in order to cover all the bases for when the car is at the track:
Also, if you've done any mods to the car you may need to set the shift point much lower than what you actually expect it to happen. As an example, in order to get my car to shift around 6600 RPM for my 1-2 shift, I needed to set it for 5000 RPM.
thanks so much Christopher.the only mod's i have are a halltech intake and a 160 thermostat.i will print this out and take it with me .hopefully they can fix it.wish me luck. thank u again for your help. frank

No problem as I just went through the same thing last Wednesday and Friday at the track. Fortunately I was able to correct it since I bring my HP Tuner with me although I'm still havinng a problem with the Spark Advance taking a nosedive when I launch.
The factory shift rpm/speed are pretty much optimum for maximum performance with the factory cam. Your tuner should not have even touched shift points.
