My experience has been to use the sport mode. I'm of the opinion that the F55 has been designed to keep the tires in contact with the pavement better than standard shocks. If I understand the differences between sport and touring correctly, it is only the reaction time to the changing conditions. This would be similar to the concept of valving in a conventional shock where the size controls the fluid movement to determine firmness. However, that's where the similarity ends, because a computer makes changes to the density of the fluid in milliseconds based on sensed road conditions.
The end result is that sport mode would provide the maximum traction and minimum chance of wheel hop.
I'm not trying to start an argument between conventional shocks and the F55 type, but apparently the engineers at Chevrolet have chosen the F55 as the standard for the '09 ZR1. Nuff said.
Go with the softer setting, it should allow more transfer to the back wheels on the launch.
I could be wrong but thats what i would think? Firm means less transfer right?
I have the F55 with MN6. After many hours or "testing" tour wins by a lot. Less wheel hop, more traction. In fact, the combo of running the rear tires at 28 and in Tour mode was what finally let me beat a buddy's Z51 with more HP and skill.
