Oops, phone is locked in the car too. Use a hide-a-key. Much cheaper and more reliable than ONSTAR.

Two VERY simple solutions to your "problem"
1. Disable the autolock feature.
2. Treat the fob as you would treat a key. Would you lock both sets of keys in a car and complain about it?
I use #2.

Key/fob should ALWAYS be on your person. Of course if people did that we would not get these "locked out of car sob stories" near as often as we do.
When the key had to go in the ignition slot it was idiot proof then. PROGRESS

Its not that hard NOT to lock your FOBS in the car. Take them with you. Cant see any reason both FOBS should be in car anyway.

Will not do that again
I guess you better show her the release handle on the floor.

This also happened to me on Tuesday, June 3. However my wife had the other FOB with her at her job 20 miles away. When she returned home it opened right up.

It's not rocket science, boys and girls. Keep the fob you're using in your pocket (or purse) and keep the other one somewhere outside the car.

Is it possible to get trapped in a C6 like with the windows up and a dead battery / blown fuse type thing ? Or are there Emergency release handles from the inside?

There are two emergency release handles, one between each seat and the door. Actually just forward of the seat.
