Wonder if anyone has had issues like this? Experiencing a power loss at the body control module. Fuse number 25 has .7 draw.
Having to boost battery after car sits idle for a couple of days. Battery tested okay so a good neighbor checked and could locate problem to fuse #25 in the body control module. Not sure what this controls.
From the wring diagram the circuit routes via the BCM to the Instrument Panel Cluster.
Things in the circuit are the voltmeter, speedometer, tachometer, electronic suspension control module and the HUD
I am having a similar problem. 7/10 Amp draw till the computer sleeps and then holds steady at .37 Amp draw. Fuse #25 brings it down to .01 Amp. Mechanic wants to tear apart dash to look at this. Sure would like to know if there's anything simpler.

can you be vleaer on where exactly is fuse 25? Its supose to be on the passenger footwell but there is no id for any fuse 25?
You posted on the C5 General section… that’s probably why you can’t find that fuse…what is your specific issue ??
our steering wheel anti-theft llck has stopped working. The service manual says to unplug fuse 25 of the BCM to restore the normal lock function. We can find the BCM fuse or its reference.
This is the fuse related to the lock and its location.
great, i missed this! So if the fuse is good and i pull it will that reset it? Or do I need to disconnect the battery and do a voltage discharge of the voltage.
as i indicated the service manual says to pull fuse 25. But as you know there is no designation of fuse numbers on the BCM.
Don’t know if you are looking at the right manual but below is the procedure for column lock warning inoperative…you need a bidirectional scan tool to accomplish this test but I would have to look at a wiring diagram…I don’t know if you have any electrical diagnostic experience but if not I would find an auto electric shop in your area…unfortunately for most that look for help here 99.99% of the time it’s not a blown fuse…and yes the BCM fuses aren’t “numbered”…if it’s inop I would say the fuse should be good when checked…there is no visual indicator for the wheel being locked.

so it would appear that we try to do a bcm reset and see if that clears the problem.
i know earlier years had a BCM problem that caused constant headaches and reset
so can we do a in-vehicle reset of the BCM back to factory defaults. how?
There is no “factory reset” of the BCM back to its default settings…it’s not a TV…if you want you can disconnect BOTH battery cables and then touch them together…this is called a “cap” or capacitor discharge….so your column lock is not locking or you can’t get it to unlock ??…you’re not giving me any info here…when you say “we” are you working with a shop with this ??

By the way, i have the large 4 volume service manuals for this vehicle so it’s not some library book or internet speak. Sometimes i find lack of clarity but the manuals are far more accurate that the dealership service dept or backyard mechanic.
As I said is the column lock not unlocking or locking ??
the problem is the steering does not now lock as it used too, We’ve been working the torque tube and the car has been up in the air for a bit. The battery was disconnected and on a trickle charge. So the car hasn’t moved while we were taking the undercarriage apart.
Now we've got it back together and doing oil snd trsns filter and fill still is in the air.
the lock was working before. We didn’t change anything that would affect this not working.l.
it seems to me the BCM lost it’s memory which seems to correlate to the battery disconnect.
OK, well thanks for providing more info…I thought after 2005 all of the steering locks were disabled but if you say yours locks I’m not here to argue that fact ??…there is a SCLCM (Steering Column Lock Control Module) which is the “brain” so if you have a scan tool can you communicate with that module ??…if not you check its powers and grounds…as below in the description that module has to see 3 inputs (transmission state, ignition state, and BCM power off mode) so with that factory level scan tool you should be able to accomplish this…so the shop your car is at I’m assuming can’t diagnose this ??…the description below should be in your Service Manual.
