Pushrods rubbing against the head?
How many guys said to go with the 7.425?
You could check the lash cold and hot and see if the .025 would make the difference. Will the longer rods prevent the rubbing?
The big question here is what went bad after a few thousand miles to cause the tick. I knew a guy that had an 05 that he cammed with no oil pump mod and had nothing but trouble with noisy valve train. Your oil pressure seems more like stock, than that of a high volume unit. My oil pressure cold is 55 at idle 80 at higher rpm, that's why I don't get on it till it warms a bit. Hot 45 at idle 70 at 6k. GT11 cam with 215/ 231 631/641 with 7.400 Comp push rods. Maybe this is what caused whatever is wrong.
Push-rods hitting = something bent. was that exhaust valve one of the hitting push-rods?

I'm kinda figuring one way or the other the heads are coming off so I'm thinking about just getting new fully assembled heads.
I did install a set of Yella Terra UL rockers and ran it briefly. It did seem to quiet down the clatter under the hood...I had to shim them for wipe then used a p-rod checker to measure length. Assuming I measured correctly
...with the shimmed rockers it's showing that with my 7.425" p-rods I'd be getting around .065 preload. I figured with the cam and then the .048 rocker shims I'd need a bit longer ones. I wondering now if my heads haven't been machined down some and/or the Caddy lifters are a little taller than oe.Anyway I've pretty much parked the car for right now as it's burning tons of oil at idle. It's been burning just a bit at idle since the new spring kit was installed but now it's got pretty bad. I'm pretty sure it's a loose/leaky valve guide seal on #4 as I pulled the plugs and oil is only on that spark plug. I got some new seals from Patriot and I'm just waiting on the spring compressor tool I have ordered.
Btw...I had to use sealant on the intake rocker bolts as the runners were ported so much the bolts run into the runners.
Thanks again guys,
Ken
