While I do believe this to be true, I don't take a bunch of credit for being able to do it, it just kinda comes natural.

Now for something completely unrelated...

You guys are really amazing. The OP said it was posted for entertainment, which I thought it was. Then some of you have to question where was it really done along with other negative remarks. For those of you that enjoyed it, good for you. For those of you with all the criticism, lighten up and enjoy life a little.

Joel, you seem to be turning this into some sort of an automatic (or specifically automatic + nitrous?) versus manual type issue but I don't think that neither Ponchorello nor SoldSyclone were even commenting on your manual driving skills (which most of us know are quite stellar) AT ALL.
I think they're simply (and justifiably) raising the issue of you actually trying to claim that you ran a 10.8 based on a simple view of your gauges during an acceleration run...and frankly, I question it as well, no offense.

Fair enough and you're right, but they're not the only ones turning into something more.
The video certainly is entertaining, I'll give ya that.

Ahhh ok maybe you forgot that this is c6 tech, where everything is questioned and criticised. No offense to JSBLOWN, I always admire his track vids.

While the title and initial content of this thread may have given some the indication that I was claiming I ran a 10.8 second 1/4 mile run, I've stated a few times already that this was basically an entertainment type vid.

I'm VERY well aware of the scrutiny that one must go through to get an official time on this board...

This thread was NEVER meant to be taken as a serious claim to a ten second run, although it does give a fair representation of what the performance of the car is.

I have nothing against auto or nos, I just don't like smart azz sarcastic comments.

I view this board as a diversion to the seriousness of life, and don't like to get into the controversy that seems to arise sometimes. Grated I'm guilty of contributing to it at times, but I usually try to do it in a nice way. When folks want to get nasty, I just get nasty back, and all of the sudden, I'm the bad guy.

Take your bra and panties off guys and see this thread for what it is!

that's not really true i have an auto, and i don't see any manuals or autos with bolt/ons near, not even close, with ls2 or ls3 a6 or a4 or m6. so i must have the skill to run that auto. i don't want to hear nothing, lets see a 1.47 60 ft time. or 1.5s consitantly. lets see those times and 60 fts with any of the others at that power level and we will throw the skill card out the window

How are those toyos for street tires? It looks like they were holding well.
I can't roll into it like you did with nitto r2's. I'm looking for a new street tire.
Those videos looked like alot of fun.

The Toyos are holding up great, I've got no complaints, other then they are a little loud.

Its called Brain power lol

Now go to the track and run back to back 10.8xx and we will all bow down to your skill, but we will still shake our head the next pass when you miss a shift or overheat the clutch.

Looks pretty damn fast in that video but a good friend once told me: time slips > all else.

I don't know you from Adam, so when you tell me to go somewhere, and do something it just does not really register with me.

While I did get caught up in the 1/4 mile thing, I really believe a Vette is a Sportscar, and meant to be driven more then just a 1/4 mile when it hits the track. No offense to the drag racing community, but I also believe a sportscar should be manually shifted.

I've always driven manual sports cars, and enjoy all that's involved with straightaways, turns, shifting and braking.

I will continue to have fun with both my vettes, doing which ever activity it is I feel like at the time! Please don't tell me what I should run or how you'll feel if I don't run what YOU think I should.

While some will say it's just an excuse to say that Los Angeles pick of 1/4 mile tracks in the summer does not provide one with a very good DA, I know it to be a fact.

This Whole thread was meant to weed out the haters, and you sir have QUALIFIED. This thread was also, and for the most part meant to be a "gag" type/fun thing. It's people like you that don't seem to know how to have any...

I don't predict running 10's any time soon with my present mods and avaliable tracks, so don't hold your breath for it...

Have a pleasant evening.

JB
