Joel, you are banging some gears buddy, those are great shifts!

Would love to see a HP Tuners scan of your runs, I think you've got .1 on me from your shifting alone. If you've got any tuners scans I can tell you for sure.

And it gives me something to strive for!

Once again, that's all fine, good and understood and I would never attempt to try and educate someone on proper internet car message board threadmaking or posting or anything LOL but...while you may not care much for drag racing, some of us here still do take the various 1/4 mile ET/MPH claims VERY seriously so this is maybe how I would've humbly worded something like this:

"Here's a little dashboard video of me running what appears to be a 1/4 mile pass, I timed it using a stopwatch and it came out to a 10.8!
I know I know, before anyone starts pointing fingers I agree that this really proves NOTHING but I'm merely posting it for entertainment value only and I do not truly believe that my car ran a 10 second pass in this video.
"

Now that may seem like a lot to go through when making a post of this nature but I'm quite sure if one of us (joking or otherwise) showed you a 'gauges only' video of us lapping YOUR favorite mountain pass or road course with claims of a super stellar time that YOU TOO would question it.

Very level headed response my friend. I will save this post for future dashboard threads... As I said before, I too am a bit guilty at times for stiring the pot just a bit...

Man you can dish it out but cant take a joke, I knew the whole post was a joke so were my responses

BTW I also enjoy the twisies and the road course but the A6 is proven to be the better choice there too, Dont get me wrong I like to shift the C6 M6 too but I wanted the faser sports car too each his own.

Gee, I wonder why GM decided to offer the Z06 & ZR1 with a clutch only? I guess they never spoke with you.

Whatever dude... You typed what you did, and I enterpreted it how I did. I'm pretty sure I get you. I tell ya what, you go with your opinions about roadracing and autos, and I'll go with mine...

Have a nice day!

Those with automatics at the 1/4 mile, push down on the right foot and steer straight. Not much to think about

All things being equal, the faster car in the canyons or any road course would be a 6 speed with a clutch. I know... Indy cars and F1's use a paddle shifter but the paddle in a C6 isn't close to what a paddle in a F1/Indy car is capable of. Ya just don't see many Corvette Autos at road course tracks. There's a really good reason for that.

Given the fact that both sides (manual/auto) agree that the auto is easier to drive. Wouldn't it then stand to reason that it is also faster in any given racing event?

And how the hell did this turn into an auto manual debate? Damn you jbsblownc5
