Congrats on your new animal Craig. If Spin himself claims it is faster than his the ride it must be absolutly breathtaking. It just may dyno
500+ RWHP. He feels like his is around 470 in other threads. The cam timing and the DCR is spins secret as he was talking about it for a long time. It would be interesting to see how it would compare with c6ddev
as he seemed to benefit immensly from a cam only change and already had the L92 + about 10 cu in advantage. Enjoy your ride my friend and stay safe. Leon

Craig,

Very cool... It has to be awesome in person if it sounds that great in the video.

Thanks for the kind words, Leon. It is amazing, I drove around all day yesterday looking for any quirks, could not find any. Guy has an incredible sense of matching parts and calculations. The car is not only super fast with neck breaking midband torque, but as Cameron pointed out when he drove it "Wow! This car is smooth as silk!" But Guy has no secrets, we'll be putting up specs on everything.

If anyone wants to calc it out for a guess in the mean time, at peak power in HPTuners, my stock LS2 injectors are at 89% duty cycle. If I remember correctly, the stock injectors are about 33.9lbs - and using the formula

Injector Flow Rate (lb/hr) = Engine HP x BSFC /Number of Injectors x Injector duty cycle

BSFC or Brake Specific Fuel Consumption is the ratio between the engine's fuel mass consumption and the crankshaft power it is producing. For naturally aspirated engines, you can usually estimate BSFC to be 0.5.

So using 33.9(Flow Rate) = HP x .5 (BSFC) / 8 (# of Injectors) x .89 (duty cycle), the actual HP number should be around 480.

Here's a link to a webpage showing how the calc works. If you have HPTuners, you can use the same method to APPROXIMATE your HP numbers. Fuel Injector Calculations

Of course, this is just guestimate numbers, we'll have actual dyno numbers soon.

And John, it's time for you to come visit anyway and see it in person !

You are the king of exaggeration. The group wouldnt be the same without you. While I agree its fast, 10 second timeslips have less to do with the power and more to do with the driver and the suspension. I think with me driving it, its a good 13 second car.

Whoa there nelly. If you are reffering to the so-called-pizza we had in that NJ place it doesnt count. Thats wasnt even food as I understand the difinition. I was so hungry waiting for Cartek magic being done to my car, that I ate it anyway. Can we have a real sit down dinner since I'm not paying?

I'm working on the intro and organizing the pictures. I havent decided on a title, haha, but It will post once Craigster gets a few pulls done this week. Preferably with me tuning it on the dyno. It came out good and I'm happy that the guy that got a faster car than me is a really good friend.

Thanks for the kind words Craig. I like doing things like this so I can get a break from the nausea associated with gear, fuel economy, and longevity (wear on your engine) arguments.

I like the vid of the cam idle. Has a nice fast chop and not lopey. I
think Craig is running borla stingers if my memory serves me right. You
done a great job GUY and I want you to know I will be watching for
other postings after the dyno tune.

Hey spin, tires and traction are a given when I made the 10'7 10'8 claim. That being said, I would get it in the 10's with any sticky tire combo guaranteed..

Craig actually has the LS3 NPP rear cat backs with Mild to wild set up. I am switching to this set up soon, I am absolutely stunned by that sound under WOT..Anyone want the route 66 cat backs? PM me..

Easier said than done...even super potent manual transmissioned Corvettes don't just fall into the 10s on their first pass ya know.

I have 200+ pass experience on the 1/4 with my X 93 stang cobra with 550rwhp set up, 28 inch slicks and skinnies launching at 5,500 rpms. I know all about first time passes, they are so difficult when you have certain expectations, and are rewarded with 13.2 passes. However, I am confident craigs car is a fine candidate for this task with me behind the helm . Remember, C6DVL's 10.84@128 pass on sticky tires. If I fail the 10 second pass, I will get it on the next few runs..

Ok then, yes the car sounds like it certainly has the potential and you very well may have the skills to get it done too, I only hope that Craigster will allow you the chance to prove it.

Craigster offered once last year, but imagine the pressure if I don't get it in the 10's with stickies... I am up to it if craigster feels confident in my abilities. It would be like a few dyno pulls..

Yucks, no thread jacking intended...sorry..
