Default Where to hide bottle?

Where is a good place to hide a 10# bottle? I do not want it visible inside the car. Any suggestions? Pics would be appreciated.

Put it inside a speaker box in the trunk.

Yea I fought with that for so dam long. I had several ideas that I did try, but in the end, still didnt keep them.

1. Enclosed the bottle in a Bazooka Subwoofer. This was actually my best idea, but seein as how I had another (functional) sub in the back, it made it look cluttered.

2. Just put it in the cargo bay and covered it with the cargo cover.

3. Draped a bottomless duffle bag over it. Very stealthy, but I didnt like always having the "gym bag" in my car.

4. Use two 5lb bottles instead. One in each storage compartment in the back. They still stick out the top of the compartment but again, I covered them with fake sub boxes.

The last idea I had, which I did not try, was to mount four 2.5lb bottles behind the passenger seat. This seemed like a good idea, the bottles were in easy reach, and only a small amount backward motion form the seat was sacrificed. By the time i got this idea I was sick of trying to hide bottles and had already ordered my supercharger.

I remember hearing something abour a "Money Maker" system. It is suppose to be easy to hide or something but I couldn't find it.

I think the spearker box idea would work pretty well too. The only other place I could think of that might work but not sure is in the wheel well in the front of the car. I kinda remember seeing pictures that look like there might be enough room up there. The only problem with that is to remove it you would have to take of the wheel and it would prob. get to be a PITA so I'd prob. fab up a speaker box that fits in one of the rear tubs.

Just kinda realized how big a 10lb bottle is. I'm not sure where you would put that lol. I say be proud of it and put it on the roof.

The Money Maker system just hides the nozzles and plumbing in the intake manifold. It's very stealthy, can't really notice anything when you open the hood, but hiding the bottle is another job altogether.

I dont mean to go off topic but why must people be 'in the closet' about having nitrous in their car? I have my bottle proudly displayed in the car just behind and between the two seats in front of where the top is stored. Having a nitrous system in your car is not illegal. Using it is. If transporting small amounts of compressed gases were illegal, there wouldnt be anyone with a BBQ. A comrpessed gas in your car up to certain limits that vary state to state allows you to go get a propane refill.

I guess other aspects of nitrous are a bit predjudicial. Some think its "cheating" while others think it will make them more apt to get people to race them if no one knows its a fast car. When I go to run someone, I know if I'm going to win by their rear tires and the sound of the car. Is it that some people think its a hustle? You will beat them so bad all the time if you hide nitrous in your car.

Its a legit power adder with drag race classes. The only people who have something to hide are those that race out of class by hiding a bottle and that is a cheat. Do I have to organize the first nitrous pride parade?

Come out of the closet and proudly have a rear license plate frame that says nitrous express. I dont see people posting on how to make thier S/C more quiet so they dont let on that they have it.

I'm just wondering what other people's thoughts are on the topic.

Hey Guy! Whats up dude?! Looks like you've been REALLY busy lately!! Sent you a pm.

Anyway, in my case, I just like to see the cargo bay uncluttered, lol.

Never had to hide the Nitrous bottle, it was pretty much out of sight in all three vehicles. The Suzuki Swift GT had a "trunk" behind the back seat, the Ranger PU had a "back seat" and the 95 T'Bird had a trunk.
The Suzuki Swift GT (think GEO Metro) was the most fun.

well i dont want to interfere me storing the top. I also like the look of a clean cabin. I also have somebody that will continuously bitch at me if they see it in the car, I'd like to avoid that. I don't care if the people I run know that I'm spraying, if they know anything they will hear/smell it anyway.

Dam, I had the pics of my old setup until last month when I cleared my photobucket. I'll try to explain.

Check post #3 of this thread. I had my bottle mounted the same way on the same heated bracket. The difference was, I had it mounted directly behind the passenger seat, as far forward as I could place it without hitting the seat.
http://forums.corvetteforum.com/show...hlight=nitrous

Then, I took my bottle and covered it in black felt material, similar to the older Bazookas. I found myself two plastic endcaps that would slip over the ends of the bottle, and drilled a bunch of holes in the ends to make them look like speaker covers, then painted them satin black. That was it. When I needed to open the bottle, I would reach over and pop the cap off, open the valve, and cover it up again. Of course, the nitrous line is going to show, but you can pass it off as a power cable. If you wanted to do it really easy, you could just buy yourself an actual Bazooka and gut it, slip your bottle inside.

I have some old 8 inch bazookas in the attic I'd be willing to part with for your Stealth Nitrous guys. PM me if your interested, They work as speakers but since there old and in the attic I suspect there better used as Nitrous containers.

I think its cheating because a fast car is fast all the time, not just fast for a few seconds while on the spray... But your point is valid for 1/4 mile racing... I'd like N2O better if you could do a top speed run with it
