paddle shift shift points

Mine 07 C6 appears to stay in a lower gear at least for a while, than if I accelerate the same in "D"and then let off around 50 mph. In "D" it immediately shifts to 6th.
I like the fact that it appears to stay in 4th, so when you reapply throttle it's not already in 6th and has to down shift. Especially on twisty roads and in traffic where if it is in 6th it is sluggish without a throttle induced down shift.
I will check this out futher when I get a chance. I just thought the info might be available. If this is what's happening I will use the "S" mode a lot more.
I know how the paddle shift works, but I just noticed this difference in the "S" drive position.

the transmission will work as an automatic
until you use the Manual Paddle Shift Controls,
which activates the driver manual gear selection.
See Manual Paddle Shift later in this section.
While in automatic SPORT MODE (S), the
transmission computer determines when the
vehicle is being driven in a competitive manner
and will select and hold the transmission in lower
gears and have more noticeable upshifts for
sportier vehicle performance.
