275/35/18 front (18x9x56), 305/30/19 rear (19x11x79). Perfect fit.
I think the all around traction is much stronger and the ride smoother, but I don't track this car.
Good looking. Alot has to do with the model of wheel and it's offset. Although I like the looks of some wheels, CCW's (to name one) seem to always have the correct offsets, so the tires sit where they should.
Thanks for all of the replies. I'm new to the corvette scene; we jus bought our 05 C6 about a month ago. The previous owner should have had it aligned but didn't and the inside edges of the fronts are shot. My buddy owns a wheel shop and he wants me to go with the Nitto's because he can put them on for $900.00. My first thought was that I have no spare and if i'm not using run flats then i'm taking my chances. It sounds like it might be worth the risk to ditch the GY's.

Yep. Carry a patch kit and little portable compressor and you'll be all set.
The soft sidewall is definitley true, but they are still some of the stickiest tires your going to find for the street. The statement that "loose is fast" is dead on... I've been to the track with mine several times and done some copious burnouts to boot, pulling 1.8 60' times and I still have about 1/3rd of the tread left after 19,000 miles. This is the third set of tires I've had and they are
On the street they stick a straightline as well or better than my MT Drag Radials. I run 275/35's up front and 345/30's with a Z06 wide body in the rear.
CAn someone give a comparison to the nitto 555r2's?
Rob I have the Invo on my car for the street 19in 275F / 305R. At first I wasnt too sure about them, but after driving in the warmer weather I like them.
I will be instructing a student at VIR Monday / Tuesday that just but on the 555R2s. I should be able to give you some feedback on those tires for comparison.
any of you guys running the 305's on stock rims, or are you all running aftermarket? What is the width of the stock 19" rear wheel anyway? I too am looking at the invos. Thanks.

Having driven Aintqik's stroker up here in the mountains of Colorado today, and still spinning the tires in 3 gears the invos arent even close. My car hooks 550-600rwhp on a N2O shot in second on 555r2's and RJ's car is 500rwhp at sea level. It still has great TQ but if his car can break the tires loose as easy as it does, then my original comparison of r-compound to the biggest street tire is no comparison.

By the way, RJ's rear invos are 345's.
Spin what is your suggestion for tires? For a Car that is in the 400-450 power band... that sees the track maybe once or twice a year, but does some street pulls often. I want some tires that are going to hook up on the street and also at the track... but, more concerned with the street than the track!
I see a lot of suggestions for Invos, KDW2s, and PS2s... I have no idea where to begin on tires.

Contrary to opinions stating otherwise, I find they are fine in the rain and since they never spin, I see them lasting 8k+ miles. My runflats were bald at 5500 for the first set and the second set is half gone at 3k. I never once did a standing burn-out to warm them up. The wear was from the acceleration the car was capable of. It had spun the tires all the time when I would get on it and as such killed the tires.
No other tire that I know of has this tire's mix of handling and traction.
At 400-450rwhp you wont ever break them loose unless its your intent on a launch.

I think those are a great set of tires... My question, what if I want a tire that is going to last closer to say 15k miles? Something that I won't have to worry about replacing every year, but every 1 1/2 to 2 years. I want something that will drive well, hook up on the street in that 400-450 power range, and still be able to be a long lasting tire. Any suggestions? I guess I am asking for a non-R compound tire...
let me join the Invos guyz and say .. INVOS ROCK BIGTIME!! .. compaired to the GYs i had .. the invos r more grippy and more queit .. believe me .. ur gonna feel the difference as soon as u sit inside the car .. go for it without even asking
