Default Starting the process... my first installation.

Me and a buddy will be starting the header install tomorrow...

What is to be installed...

Used set of Kooks 1 3/4 headers, catless xpipe, midsection.

I am going to document the procedure and hopefully share any insight I can. This will be complete with pictures and video of the whole process. My buddy has a really nice HD camera and will be documenting the whole thing and making a video.

As one of my first real "mods", I am very excited and looking forward to getting under the car and getting this done. I will keep everyone in the tech posted about my experience as well as provide hopefully some great shots. This should also be eye-opening for anyone who has been paying installation costs instead of doing it themselves. I honestly, have not done hardly any real mods on my previous two cars... my vette and my 99 SS. All were done by me paying the installation costs... I have limited experience on working on cars, but I am gunna get out there and give it a go! Don't worry, I will have a very knowledgable buddy or two to help me along on the process!

But, for anyone who has not done their own installations, hopefully I can persuade you to get out there and try it!

Will keep everyone posted!

-Brendan

I saw a video from that HD video camera he has. That thing is amazing!!!

Let me know how it goes. Once you get done head up here and get it tuned so we can go running around town. Hopefully I will have my FAST and 4.10's on by then.

Speaking of first time mods...

I've never done a major mod to any of my previous cars. My most advanced "mods" were the addition of a "Z-Tube" on my Infiniti G35 Coupe, and the attempted install of a CAI to my Nissan Frontier (the parts didn't fit so I never completed it).

I'm in the process (I'm also a first time modder) of putting in a Lingenfelter CAI and FAST manifold on my 06 A6. The CAI is done (with the help of some VERY famous corvette forum Celebrity assistance) and I'd like to say It's A B*TCH messing around with that damn C6 shroud!

There's no way I would have attempted/completed that as my "first" mod without SIGNIFICANT help.

The FAST goes in tonight, but I don't want to hijack what will likely be a very informative and enlightening thread. As such, I'll list all the details under another thread this weekend.

Look forward to seeing your project completed and the associated pictures and video. Thanks for going to all the trouble to share your experiences!!!

appreciate it guys!

Yeah, I am about in the same boat as your are a-pex... With the exception of a CAI here or there and a TB or two; I haven't done any significant work. I will let you know how it goes for sure and post all subsequent pictures/video!

I am about to start in about 45 minutes. 2 oclock here in texas... its going to be HOT! Hope to have it finished by 8 or 9 tonight. Will post whatever I can tonight!
