Default Anyone a Typhoon Intake?

I'm curious to see how this compares to the Fast.

From what I've heard they aren't SMOG legal, heavy, Aluminum so they heat up bad, bad quality cause they don't seal well. I'd say stick with a ported FAST. Its worked for me.

I've had my Typhoon on for over a year, with zero issues. It will telegraph valve train noise more than an acoustic plastic intake, weighs more, and it will heat sink. BUT, it won't rupture under pressure.

I bought this intake and found the quality so bad that there was no way it would ever seal to the heads. Everything about that intake is cheap and it is made in China. I sent it back and bought the FAST 90, much better product.

Just browsing through some these Professional Products " TYPHOON" intake manifold threads. Though I can't speak directly for Professional products and where they have this intake produced and the manufacturers quality control. I can only give my theories as to why they are doing what they're doing with this manifold which I will do in a min. However, I can speak for the man who designed this manifold. This manifold was designed in the USA in Washignton state. and has been dyno tested and proven in LSx applications ranging from mild to wild. all with superior gains throughout the power curve. However, professional Products has seem to deviate from the original design of this manifold by taking away a key process in the manufacturing of this manifold which if not followed does lead to heat soak issues. For those of you interested there is very cost effective way to eliminate the heat soak issue associated with these manifolds. I assume Professional Products is trying to make as much money as they can however, it seems only logical to not take the route Professional Products seems to be taking due to lack of sales because of quallity control and heat soak issues. I can say if your interested in one of these typhoon manifolds that will work and not have heat soak issues and will perform as well as it looks please feel free to PM me and I will point you in the right direction.

Wow, this thread is OLD !
My post was 18 months ago. My Typhoon is still on the car and has given me zero issues. And this is on a 10 psi FI engine. I guess the intake has been on now for 2 1/2 years. I can't say anything but good things about it. No leaks. Car makes 550 rwhp on a very conservative tune. Gas mileage is good. Response is immediate. What more could you ask for. Oh, it looks great, too.

Oh, and the car passes local emissions tests.
