Are there any adjustments that have to be made for speedo/odo after gear change?
Thanks
Mike
No but you need to adjust shift points on an auto and an acceleration based rev limiter on a manual, at least many people do, myself included.
I can provide you with screen shots of the rev limiter if you need them, or you can search for my thread on the topic (I don't have it bookmarked on my iphone where I am posting from)
The reason I asked is that my mileage has taken a nosedive. Around town with a little interstate I average 14.6 mpg with the 3.90's and 6MZ. On a trip to Dallas and back I averaged just over 23 mpg. These numbers are far below what I expected. Tune by Chuck CoW should have helped by leaning it out some, but mileage s***s.

Speedo needs nothing when changing gears. My mileage hits 30 straight hwy, with a little in town mix 25.8 ave last tank. I have 3.90's with the base tranny so my 6th is where yours was.
1.95 vs 1.94 6th ratio's
speedo input comes from diff but from input shaft not output to wheels.
I have 3:90 and there was no negative change in gas mileage. I can use 6th gear more around town than before. On a resent 250 mile trip I averaged 32 mpg at 75 mph

Funny thing is.......A car with gears and NO CAM will usually only lose 2mpg when driven responsibly. Adding a cam in conjunction with gears, expect some losses....
Must be the GT-11 cam then. I really don't get into it that often to knock down the around town mileage to < 15 mpg.
Thanks, Joe for letting me know others have seen the drop.
Mike, pm my buddy Rwsjr. He has your exact cam, and I don't think he has any mpg issues. I am concerned that you have something else going in. Do you have hp tuners and thus can you scan your car?

Mine is an '05 A4 w 3:15's that got 26-27mpg(hwy) stock. Added heads cam(G5x-3),headers w cats ls2 edit tune - 22.5mpg(hwy) Since went with GT-11 cam, ported F.A.S.T. , 2400stall converter, HPtuners. Now at 23mpg(hwy) 70-80mph avg on last trip to Cruise in. 2000 -2200 rpm avg. I would expect a MN6 to get better, even with the 3.90's. The GT-11 cam is so much like stock cruising, i can't see it destroying your mpg. The tune is everything
Someone needs to help me to I have the GT-11 and mine is around 16 as well. FAST intake,Kooks 1 3/4 with cats,Borlas, LPE cold air, Dart 225heads, 6-speed, some minor tuning. I had to have alot of fuel down low (650-2000 rpm)to even out fuel trims. The car would set mil light almost instantly with a lean right and left bank. Car gets same mileage before and after needs something else changed.
