I'm taking my 07 Z-51 out to Ennis Tomorrow night and try my new tune from Twenty First Century Muscle Cars. My car is a 6-speed automatic with the paddle shifter.
My question is, when I shift back into "S" mode on the start and manually put into first, will it shift automatically or do I have to manually shift with the paddle shifter??
I've been taking off from the start in second gear and did not know.
It ran a 12:90 taking off in second !!
If it only had a transbrake and a two speed powerglide, then I
could drive it.
Please enlighen me on my ignorance on these new vettes.
Once you pull the level back into 'S' it will start off in 1st all on it's own at all times, until you touch the paddles that is. Once you touch the paddles then you have to manually paddle down in order to get 1st gear again otherwise it starts off in 2nd after you've come to a stop again.

Once you move the selector to S it starts in first and upshifts and downshifts "automatically!", use the paddles and you have to upshift, it will downshift itself but only to 2nd.
Once you touch the paddle you're stuck with the paddle shifting. Don't touch the paddles, just put it in S and sqeeze the throttle, don't slam the throttle to the floor. TC off, AH on.
