Does anyone have any advise on the best sound proofing material to use?? I am looking to sound proof my car thanks to wanting and now having a loud exhaust, I have heard about dynomat, second skin and a couple of others... Any exp. anyone can share with me?? Also, how well does it work and is it worth the cost??
I used Second Skin Damplifier Pro in the whole back area, under the seats, behind the seats, the tunnel, the doors, the ceiling and the hood. A lot of work, but I'm extremely happy with the results. Here are some pics.....
Second Skin is defintely the best. I am a reseller for them, just did my car with it last week. They have alot of different products depending on what exactly your trying to do.

About how many sq ft would you say you used in the interior?
Second skin! I use damplfier pro, Luxury Linear and overkill. Different products for different frequency. Call the Ant. at second skin the customer service is great.
I did my whole car and most want go this far but this is what I used:
Sound proofing:
Damplifier Pro 150 sq feet
Luxury Linear Pro 5 Sheets 40 sq feet
Speaker Pads 2
Overkill 9 sq feet

I bought the "Shop Pak" and the "Door Pak". When I had a number of sheets left over, I used them on the Rear Roof Bow (on a Coup) and the Hood. So, to answer your question, probably about 80 Sq-Ft, but it's better to have too much than not enough to finish the job.

The important question. One of the reasons Corvettes don't have a lot of sound deadening is because they are lightweight sportscars. I'd hate to add a ton of weight to the car.
honestly I am not really concerned about the added weight.. If it slows it down some I will do a couple of mods to speed it back up.. It is my everyday car and I would rather it be more comfortable than it is now...
This was $17 a roll, I used two rolls to do the entire trunk area. It looked just like HuskerBullet's trunk. I got it from Lowes, it's dense foam with a sticky backing and topped with thick foil.. I'm very happy with the results! It made a huge difference with the exhaust noise, no longer does the exhaust sound come from the trunk.
