Default Changing All The Water Hoses

I want to do something with all the water hoses on my C6. Not sure yet just what, but most likely stainless steel braided. Looks like I can get pretty much all the hose sizes and fittings I need to do the swap.

I guess my question is, even with draining the radiator, I assume I still am going to have a big mess on my hands, is that correct? I would even be changing out the heater hoses. Would appreciate any comments from those that have changed out their hoses.

Default Radiator Hoses

A while back, I contacted CCA about this - got their top hose - and notised they had a complete braided C5 kit as well as carrying the PFADT (I think) silicone hose set. Chip responded as follows:

To make the connections on the (2) what would be 3 pc for each, you wiould need 14 AN fittings, which would be about $20-$35 each. Just the fittings alone would be $280 to $350.
As set for the C6 would easily be over $600.
Correct me if I'm wrong, but everyone I've asked has said no way...
Peace
Chip

I responded:
The lines in my 08 are secured by cheesy pressed metal clamps. Why wouldn't SS band clamps work on these lines (The hose to the resevoir, for instance, that runs into an arm of a "T" fitting; another line going from the leg of the "T" to the block and the third line going from the other arm of the "T" to the radiator)?
SS band clamps are used on the silicone hose set and appear to be part of your C5 braided hose set. A $400 price point, similar to that for the C6 silicone and C5 SS sets would be do-able.

Chip advised that his lawyer had a liability issue if AN fittings were'nt used. I admit they would be preferable from a performance/appearence point of veiw.

Anyway, I'm interested in what you find out.

Thanks for the reply Miami as you are the only one that bothered to answer. While doing a little research on the subject, I did see your post and the response you got, so I knew that vendor was not interested.

I have made the change to all stainless braid on other cars before, so today I took some hose measurements and went to the Spectre and Summit Racing websites. If you want to just cover the stock hoses with a braided cover, then Spectre has the braided covers and clamps that you will need. Summit Racing has true braided stainless hose and it looks like I can come up with most all of the correct sizes and the necessary clamps. Looks to me like $200-$300 should take care of converting over most of the lines that are visible. This is the route I am going to take.

Regarding my original question, I was just wondering how well the Corvette cooling system drains as compared to other cars. I know there is going to be a bit of a mess pulling off all the water lines, but was just wondering if it is worse than other cars.
