Default Track Run

I took my car out to the track for the madien voyage. I ran a 13.09 sec @ 113.1 mph. Needless to say, I did not represent the Corvette very well. I have a few questions. My launching techniques need some work and tried different rpm launches. It is normal to shift to 4th just before the end of the run. I tried short shifting 2-3 and that did not improve the time. Mt previuos car was an automatic and the manual is a bit more challenging, but fun

It's not easy. Take practice. I think I was shifting to 4th just before end. Good run for first time out.

It was a challenge and after reading Rangers suggestions, I think I can do better. My 60ft's were horrid at 2.25-2.50 seconds. A friend of mine bought my old car and we raced 3 times. He would murder me on the launch, but I would start to reel him in just passed the 1/8.

I got a DA of ~+3057' for your time frame. All stats came from wunderground.com. I got the pressure from weather.com as the pressure was not posted at wundergrounds website for whatever reason. That time isn't so bad for the DA. Wait until winter and rip it up.

I'm sorry but I disagree with the link on burnout techniques. On stock tires you do not get in the burnout box and do a big smokey burnout. Do a quick chip just to scrub the small rocks ect off of the tires. Stock tires tend to lose grip when they get too hot. The heat coming off of the track should be enough warmth for the stockers.

Not bad considering the DA.

The heat coming off of the track should be enough warmth for the stockers.
