Default How do I remove hood shocks?

How do I remove the gas charged hood shocks? They no longer keep my hood up and I need to replace them. Any idea what new ones cost?

Thanks

First, make sure that you support the hood properly. Use a small flat-bladed tool to release the metal clips at the ends of the assist rod, then pull away from the stud. The gas springs are retained by spring clips that clip onto a ball socket.

Don't forget to unplug the wiring harness for the hood lamp, if you plan to take the hood off.
