who does your porting of the intake and tb? Also was this an MN6 or an auto?
All our porting and machine work is done in house.
The work was done on a MN6 car.
Side note:
They are very good numbers, we are very excited with the power potential of these LS3 engines ... dynos are just tuning tools. The track results tell the story. These cars aren't just dyno queens, they will perform at the track.
Not only one, but many LS3 vette's leaving here that will be running deep 10s real soon. Just like we did with the LS1s and the LS2s.
do all tuned LS3's rev to 7200rpm?
Power drops off a good bit regardless after 6500 but just wondering.
Nice power for the mods- another great job by Cartek.
No. Most just go to 6500~6600rpm. IMO, valve springs will wear out too fast visiting that rpm freuently. On top of that, everything else valvetrain related gets the beating too. The valves themselves(factory hollow stems no less), the lifters(for those who have lost lifters on cam'ed vehicles and destroyed the block), and the rocker arms(these offset rockers "appear" to spill their guts more often with more rpm....alla Z06's). The extra performance at the track isn't worth the added *appropriate* maintenance IMO.
Edit: This is not to take away from Carteks results. They are very impressive as always and no doubt this car will roll out at the track.
Congrats Peter! Great numbers, If we bring our cars to another shop in our area we would have like 600rwhp and 580rwtq Can't wait to get to the track! See you soon

Thanks, Bruno. My SVT Cobra has 580+ at the wheels with 570+ rwtq, and it runs like a raped ape. But after doing some testing today with the Vette, I'm not sure how the Cobra would fair in a heads up run.
The Corvette is now a true monster, and has a totally different feel to it than a forced induction car; it is much more linear and absolutely much more fun to drive. When I nail the Cobra, all hell suddenly breaks loose and it's every man for himself. At times I really believe the abundance of torque hinders instead of helps, as keeping the tires on the ground becomes really an artform. When I nail the Vette, I get a progressive accelleration that is constant and accurate throughout the gears. I feel that I can be very consistant with the Vette once getting used to the way it drives.
I really liked the car after driving it home from Kerbeck, but I really fell in love since returning home from Cartek. My hat is off to Max, Julian and the rest of the crew. They don't blow smoke, they help others make smoke.
