I have about 2400 miles on my 08 A6, I thought these issues would go away after break-in. Not happening.
1. A6 slow speed shifting very erratic. When slowing down to under 20mph, then applying throttle, it seems like it doesn't know what gear to be in...often slams into one or the other. Normal accels from a stop are fine, only has issues after a decel and then accel. Every once in a while if I hit it hard, it will buck..hesitate before taking off.
2. From cold start through normal temps, I notice a rough idle...in park or drive. Pretty constant.
Anyone have similar issues? Interested in your comments before i go to the dealer.
Thanks

Reason: had the wrong milage
Seem to be common issues. Mine tends to hunt for gears at slower speeds and has had the rough idle since new. The rough idle I would consider normal, but the hunting for gear seems to be a software flaw.
Had similiar problems. Had my tranny tuned and always paddle shift. A computer tune helped the idle problems and lowered my temps. Along with all of the mods, car runs awesome.
if its a software flaw, shouldn't we expect GM to be providing an upgrade? I hesitate to do any tuning because of all the talk about telltale signs and GM not honoring warrantees. At 2400 miles I expect GM to fix it - under warrantee.
They have the same problems with the new Denali's and I think the Escalades..
My Dad took his 07 Denali to the dealer for the GM update for the transmission because when the engine is warm and when shifting from first to second the throttle would blip up about 200-300 RPM's.
The GM update did nothing to the transmisson.
My advice is to get your A6 tuned, that should clear up any problems that you may have.
