Polished Hose Clamp Suggestions?
I recently added polished chrome caps to the engine of my 2006 LS2, and now the brushed finish hose clamps on the air intake look dull in comparison. I found a source of polished stainless steel worm drive clamps in the appropriate size at a reasonable cost, but see that I wouldn’t be able to use them as replacements for the OEM ones.
It turns out that the clamps that hold the rear bellows duct to the mass air sensor on one end and the intake manifold on the other end are not just ordinary hose clamps. They have cutouts in them that fit over tabs in the duct. I can only guess that the purpose is to keep the clamps from pulling off the duct.
I suppose the polished clamps could be drilled and milled to fit the duct tabs, or the OEM clamps could be polished, but I don’t know that I could do either very well.
Any suggestions? Or maybe I should get a life and quit worrying about trivia like this.

Ding ding ding... We have a winner!
Nah, seriously I don't care much for bling, but I know some people do, so if that's your thing I would try polishing the stock hose clamps with a dremel tool and some rubbing compound. I did that to get some rust off my fuel injector endcaps on another car and they actually turned out very well.

Good ideas – I could try polishing or powder coating as suggested. I’m not really into bling either. I installed the plain chrome caps because they actually cleaned up the somewhat cluttered appearance of the OEM caps, which are of various sizes, have different colors and styles of labeling, and so on.
