I added Z51 sway bars to my base suspension '05 and it improved the handling. An '08 would benefit the same.

Might also wish to consider upgrading the suspension while you're in there. Lots of options from sport shocks, all the way to adjustable coilovers w/ poly bushings (what I did.) Several very informative threads can be found by a search.

Another thing to consider is getting a road tested front-end alignment. Many members report that their factory settings were off by quite a bit. Steering adjustments and 4 corner balance also improve the handling, as do performance tires.

Just some additional things to consider.

I would also recommend the Pfadt Poly Bushings... only $30.

I did the Z51 swap on member Apex's car and he said it was a nice improvement. Pm him for a detailed description. I went from Z51 bars to Hotchkiss and love them.

I did the Z51 sway bars and PFADT poly bushing and it is well worth it. The handling is improved as well as the cornering. I would recommend it.

Also, as AintQik mentioned, this was a huge improvement to my F55 suspension.

Bottom Lines:
Without the Z51 sways, the car "let go" or leaned/listed over 0.6Gs of lateral force.
With the Z51 sways, it just stays nice and flat in the corners.

Highly recommend this mod!

I did the Z51 swaybars with Koni FSDs on my base 05. Worth every penny and a lot more.

Did the same and added Bilstein Sport shocks. Nice improvement over stock. I got great deals on both in the parts section which made it even better.

The stock front bushings were already cracking/deforming around where the bar goes through the bushing.
The rear set were as new, but the fronts were definitely showing wear..This is an 08 with 3500 miles on it...

Most purchase the sway bars from me and then the Pfadt bushings from Pfadt Racing.

Default Z51 sways and F55

What if any problems or benifits are there to adding Z51 sway bars to a F55 equipped 08 vert?

No problems. You will get better handling and cornering. The C6 won't lean when you turn hard.

Default Does it affect ride comfort?

Will the change to the Z51 sway bars result in a rougher ride?

I put Z06 Sways on my F55 and man can you snap turn the car.

I have no cornering issues at all. No body lean at all. Love the fact that I can switch to a touring ride and then back to sport for a stiffer ride when wanting one.

You should get the same results.

I have the Z51 bars and Pfadt bushings ready for install on my 07 Base Coupe.

Will the OEM bushing brackets hold the Pfadt bushing?
