Default A6 with line lock

Any one have an A6 with a line lock for drag use at the track. If so what do you launch at RPM wise? My 150 shot comes on at 3500. Also looking for tire suggestions for the track. thanks.

You might already know this but a line lock is designed to be used for burnouts, not for launching the car.

Having said that, launch RPM usually depends on your converter, tire setup and other mods. When I still had my stock converter, I got my best times by launching at just slightly above idle. With my 3600 Yank converter I pulled a 1.569 60ft time three weeks ago by launching at around 2000 rpm. Dennis50nj has a 3800 converter in his car and launches at idle but still manages 60ft times around 1.5 seconds.

You've got a lot of choices for tires too. I've been running 275/40/17 MT Street ET radials for two seasons now and love them and another good choice are BFG's in the 18" sizes.

yeah, i think he was thinkin transbrake too

i'm curious though, if ya have a 3600 converter, why not launch there, blowing the tires off?

thats why i want a 16" wheel with a full slick

i would like to know if someones got a line lock kit though

A high stall converter is a lot like launching a manual trans car - leave at too high of an rpm and the car will just spin coming out of the hole.

I've got a Cartek line lock kit in my car.

thats why more tire is needed

my shelby weighed in around 4200 with me in it, over 500 ft/lbs at the wheels and i'd dump it at 5200, and the thing would pull 1.4 60's
