Brake wishlist
Oh wait, I already have that.

StopTech makes great brakes. Unless I'm way off the mark, you have to grind some front parts to make their brakes fit. I don't like that idea.
AP Racing brakes are nice, but I think they're a bit pricey compared to some other world class brakes.
I've owned some Wilwoods (on a different car) and wasn't happy. I will add that the kit was not a Wilwood kit, it was an aftermarket kit with Wilwood calipers.
Brembo brakes are what I'm looking at. I honestly think they are very competitive with regrads to price when you take all things into consideration.
I'd love to see a gazillion people give their opinions about this subject. Especially those with real-world experience.

One thing to take into consideration on the C6 is going to be the need for new wheels. There isn't a big brake kit on the market that will work with the stock C6 wheels, at least not without a spacer.
The best starting kit would be braided brake lines, high quality fluid, and maybe a pad upgrade depending on how you are using the car. Remember track cars will need a pad that will take that kind of heat.
StopTech has been a great brake kit manufacturer for a number of years. We had used them on all of the World Challenge cars with great success. They offer OEM like quality and reliability. There are a ton of aftermarket pads available in a number of compounds so you can get exactly what you want for them.
Great bang for the buck and they give you a lot of pad material for weekends of use without replacing pads
Brembo, while a little more expensive, does offer some high end components not found on other kits. They use a floating hat and rotor design with a anti-rattle clip so that you do not have all of the noise associated with the floating design that you will get with other kits. They also use a mono block caliper which is designed to be slightly stiffer than some of the two piece calipers on the market.
Little more expensive, and has fewer pad choices but one of the best on the market today.
We offer both kits, and some of our own as well.
Let me know if there is anything that I can help with.
If it's just a street driver, then your brakes are fine, even with the extra power.
If you are going to track your car with any regularity, then buy what you can afford. Any upgrade will help.
Personally, I have 4 wheel Brembos on my '07 Z06. Yes they were expensive, but my wife and I both track, so we double team the car at HPDE's. So here's the scenario--I install my track pads, bed them in, drive to the track, and the 2 of us flog it for 2 days with consistent fade free brakes. When we're not on the track, we sit in out chairs and relax, and watch others service their brakes. Then we drive home. Was it money well spent? You bet!
