My car started making a weird noise the other day. When i shift from gear to gear i hear a clunking sound when i depress the clutch.
For example:
I'm taking off. When i shift into 2nd and let the clutch out i hear the noise. It will also do it if i'm in a, lets say 2nd gear, and blip the throttle on and off. It sounds like the noise you would hear if you'd try turning a drive shaft side to side while the car is parked. "CLUNK CLUNK"
It doesn't do it when shifting into 5th or 6th. My guess cuz there's not that much strain on the parts to cause the noise.
I'm thinking maybe something is loose in the driveline. I'll be getting it on the rack some time soon to check it out but I wanted to see if anyone has had this issue.
Any comments or questions will be greatly appreciated.
I have an 07 Z and heard a similiar prob come from my car last night after cruising on the expressway. When i got off i made a left turn amd was in first gear and when i let go of the clutch i heard the same CLUNKING noise under the car and it did it the whole way home. I brought it in today and they said that it has to do with the diff. fluid. The car is at the dealer right know ready to be looked at tom. So we will see if that is the prob.
the dealer said that it had to with the rear diff. so they replaced the fluid. I picked the car on tue. I did nt drive it at all this whole week i finally took it out tonight and still heard the noise. it is coming from th e front of the car in the engine bay it sounds like. I will be bringing it in again to see if they can figur out what is wrong(if thereis something wrong) We shall see.
