Default telescopic not working

I've been driving my 05 for about two months 1,200 miles or so. I love the car (had a 65 for 26 years sold it to by the 05) best thing I ever did, but I don't know much about the new ones.Today I checked all the build codes and found out that the car has telescopic steering column (I guess they all do)duh ! but it does not seem to work. Memory seats seems to work fine.Fuse is fine. What else can I check ? Is this common? Any help would be Great !Thanks
I also found out it had a Six-disc changer cool!

Maybe the wire is getting pinched. You may need to check behind the steering wheel. Not all C6's have telescopic steering wheels. 3LT and 4LT models do. I think in '05 it was 3SB.

Are you sure your car has the 1SB option package? Does it have heated seats, memory seats, etc.? If it doesn't have the 1SB option, you should have only the manual tilt steering wheel, not the telescoping & tilt steering wheel.

Yes, it has the 1SB package. When I push the telescopic control it does nothing ,everthing else seems to work correctly. I'm not sure how to proceed.
Thank for the help

Checked the wiring under the seat everything looks fine. The cags as been disabled, looks like it was done correctly.Could that have anything to do with it? It also has a aftermarket bluetooth setup that has been wired in everything looks fine.but no telescopic. I have to find out how to split the plastic shroud on the column.Do I need to worry about the airbags?
Again thanks for any help

I can't tell you about the '05's in this regard however in the C-5's, the telescoping steering wheel is controlled by the seat control module, under the driver's seat. Typically on those, its a small 7 pin blue connector. Since we're not talking about C-5's, I would suggest checking out each and every fuse in the car first. Then, its manual time.

Ok ,I have it down to ,it's not the switch and there is power to the switch. Alldata say I have to remove the steering column to replace the motor, but I don't want to do that so I'm going to try to disconnect the cable drive and see if it will spin. But I'm running blind , alldata is not much help.
Any help would be greatly apprecated

well, the drive motor is fine. It was easy to remove. Alldata has been a waste of time.
It could be the telescopic postion switch which is on the motor or merory seat module, I don't know how to test either or what to do next.

You should take it to a dealer to fix it. The telescopic control module may need to be "exercised" with a tech2 scan tool. The module needs to learn what its fully extended and retracted positions are, and if it doesn't it won't work. It could be something just as simple as that. And it maybe covered under warranty.
