While I am driving on the freeway at around 70 and then give it a lil gas to pass a car or just to have a lil fun. The traction control comes on and totally limits my power. This happend when I was going about 90 also. I know the tires are not slipping and I have perfectly good traction cause I am not even getting above 3000 rpm. What is going on here?
Service Traction Control never has come on. I do have different wheels on the car that are 19/20 x 11s. When I had the stock wheels this never happened so I guess it has something to do with the wheels. Is this somthing I should get serviced or what is the deal here
I do think your different size wheels are causing it. I'm pretty sure you can adjust something in the programming to solve the problem. What that adjustment is ???

It does not have anything to do with the wheels per say, but probably does with the tires.
Changing the over all tire height is going to effect how the car sees wheel speeds. If it notices a dramatic change in wheel speed front to rear the car will think that one set of wheels is spinning faster than the other and traction control will become active.
Be very careful when selecting tires to see Rev/Mile and overall tire height. GM did give you a little window to make adjustments but they must remain relatively close to factory.
Wheels are fine, I think the biggest issue with those is the fact the rear changed much more in relation to the front
Stock
245/40/18 25.7" over all height
285/35/19 26.9" over all height
Yours
275/30/19 25.5" over all height
305/25/20 26" over all height
Your front did not change to much but the rear has changed almost 1" in height. That is not all that is changing here but a quick look at the numbers says you should have a rear tire closer to a 305/30 moving height up to closer to stock.
Ok that makes sense. I have heard of this problem before on here but I can't remember where it was. Is there anyway to correct this without changing the tires?

I'm having the same problem, I'm taking my car to the dealer tomarrow i have ps2's 265-40-18 & 305-30-19. Could it be the ride height in the front causing this?

265/40/18 26.3"
305/30/19 26.5"
Yours is opposite of his. The fronts are now taller but the rears are shorter.

Anthony has it nailed...
I think that you need to maintain about a 0.75 to 1.5 inch difference in the overall height of the tires from front to rear. Stock setup has about a 1.1-1.2 inch difference, and there is a little leeway up or down on that difference. Sounds like your setup (with only 0.5 inch difference in height) is outside of the envelope, and might cause some problems with the trac control (and by association, the active handling too), as the car thinks that the rears are slipping, due to their overspeed as compared to the fronts.

Its a solid bet that incompatible F/R tire size *is* a problem... the sizes you list has the front tires EVEN TALLER than the rears (26.35"F vs 26.20"R), when the computer is expecting to see bigger rear tires, and thus, slower rear tire rotation as compared to the fronts.
The rears should be somewhere around an inch taller overall than the fronts. (see other posts in this thread)
