Default halltech venom question

I installed a halltech venom last night and I was wondering how tight the clamp between the filter and the intake tube needs to be? I do not want to overtighten but I also don't want the filter to fall through the cutout below it. anyone have any input thanks.

I tightened the clamp on my Halltech Venom as tight as I thought was prudent -- and the filter did slip off. Halltech said this wasn't a common problem, but advised that I clean both the filter and bridge mating surfaces with acetone, which I did. But the filter fell off again. I repeated the acetone cleaning again, this time being very thorough about getting all traces of oil and mold release off of the parts.

When reinstalling the filter, I just snugged the clamp down (you can almost feel the point where tightening the clamp any further will do damage to the plastic bridge), and it's stayed in place since. Be sure that the bridge is cold when you tighten the clamp -- it's much more susceptable to damage when it's warm.

I used a black Sharpie marker to scribe a line all the way around the bridge at the edge of the filter inlet so I can keep a visual check on whether any slippage has ocurred.

The Venom Bridge should not come out of the filter if the installation is done correctly. I leave the two hose clamps connecting the Venom to the throttle body as the last two clamps to tighten. This allows the bridge to actually lie in the Killer Bee Filter without tightening the clamp at all, but you do need to secure it to the filter. http://www.corvettels7.com/Instructi...stallation.pdf

You need to tighten the clamp with a light to moderate amount of clamping force to keep from distorting the bridge. Always use a 8mm nut driver to secure the hose clamps. NEVER tighten when the engine bay is hot. The plastic will distort easily when hot. The melting point is 550F degrees, but the 120 to 130F temps under the hood can soften the plastic.
