I have a ls3 A6 2.56 with long tubes, intake, tune. The car puts down 430 and has run a 11.6@121 best. I the next week i will be installing a 3200 stall. I also want to install a cam with good driveability and very little lobe. What cam would you guys recommend that would make good power and low end torque and still be a sleeper?
The XER 228/232 114+2 is a great cam with all the qualities you seek for an A6 LS3.
Using your heads-unported on an LS2 it has made 470rwhp on a manual. Your engine is bigger so it will be even more civil. You should expect a 35-40rwhp jump on your car.
I'm installing exactly what you want in my 09' A6 this week it is a 224/230 .581/.592 114+2 Comp cam on XE-R lobes. Should idle with a slight lope and pull hard to 6600 or so. I'm going to replace my timing chain since it is onlt $50 extra because I hear the stocker is not good for extensive high rpm use.
Since you are installing a stall you could use something a little bigger like a 230/236 on the same lobes and ICL and it would pull to 6800 but IMO the 224/230 is a real sleeper that screams. I'll post my numbers up in a few days
