Has anyone noticed how much their HB wobles. I think mine is a little shakey
Any ideas about this. The dealer said its ok.
TIA David
UPDATE:
I just came from on old friends whom is a mechanic and not a shade tree type. Vic took one look and in .50 of a second he said" %^$&^. That is no good". He explained that maybe the key is already worn and maybe the crank would need to be replaced.
Many have noticed how much the pulley wobbles. Try a search and you will find a lot of threads.
What I learned from my experience with a failed flexible coupling in the harmonic balancer is that there isn't a hard and fixed limit for pulley wobble. Usually, it's only when the belt starts chirping that people realize something is wrong and needs replacement. The repair is the same as the "loose crank bolt" problem. Replace the harmonic balancer. A full day job. When I checked mine to see how it's running after about 10,000 miles since replacement and it was still running dead true. The ribs on the pulley should look still while running.
I've seen many that looked like they were wobbling, but it was really an optical illusion. If it was really out of whack, it wouldn't last another 10 miles. Look at the pulley grooves.

what am I looking for on the pulley and should it be running?
Car should be running. Get a good flashlight and from the passenger side shine the light down on center of the rotating pulley where the belt rides. The pulley has parallel ribs in it and they should look stationary as the pulley rotates in a best case scenario.
I have a ATI Super Damper with 10% accessory under drive available in the for sale section if you want to upgrade.
Not familiar with that. I only know what a HB is. What is this upgrade and 10% assc? some one explain please

The pulleys are not keyed. Crank is almost certainly OK.
We need to be careful with the advice of people who are not familiar with the LS series engines. They are different in a few areas.

ATI is top of the line in harmonic dampers (balancers). The 10% accessory underdrive will slow down the accessories (parasitic power loss) and free up 5-10hp.
