Default exhaust question

I have a stock 08 c6 with npp exhaust. Someone told me to remove a fuse to keep the exhaust open. Can doing this harm the car in any way? I realize that it will be only for sound and not performance.

I really don't know the answer because I have a 2006, but why don't you get an aggressive exhaust system like Borla, SLP and B&B? they all sound mean.
just an opinion!

I recommend getting the Mild2Wild remote control switch for your NPP exhaust. That way you can turn the aggressive sound on and off at will. I have it for my '08 and it is amazing. I have had an '02 with Corsa's and an '05 with Borla Stingers and the NPP with the Mild2Wild switch is the best by far. You can have the full, very aggressive sound when you want it but can turn it off for long cruises. So , why buy an after market exhaust for $1000+ when you can have the best of both worlds for about $100 for the remote. Contact Ed at www.nakidparts.com for the best remote available and a proven product.

Just removed my fuse the other day on my new '08. There should be no problem since it was designed to open up under spirited driving. It is loud

Default Definately use a controller of some type

I have NPPs on a moderately modded car, & although it sounds great open, but you'll soon tire as it's it's just plain too loud, losta drone, & gets a lil' too much attention when you open it up. Plugging in the fuse on the fly might be a little tough. Get a controller, both Ed & SunsetOrange have an highly effective/reliable inexpensive versions that are easy to install. Having an '08 w/ NPPs it's damn near as simply as pulling the fuse. My car has 450+rhwp, which is to say it's fun, but I still think the coolest mod was adding the NPPs & controller. Oh yeah, the answer to will it hurt anything is no.

I have the M2W on order. A friend pulled the fuse and said it was too loud for every day driving. He's going with the M2W too.

Default exhaust question

I bought a 2008 Corvette about a month ago, with the NPP exhaust option. I bought the mild to wild device and I just love it. It is very easy to install, and it just takes a few minutes. As far as I can tell there are no problems so far with the exhaust.
Try this device, you will be pleased.

Thanks for the info. I am planning on getting the mild to wild switch. The exhaust sounds good now so i'll just keep it and get a good set of headers instead

Just so you do it right, make sure you get high flow cats w/ the headers. The addition of headers even w/ cats will make the car substantially (ridiculously I mean, but in a good way) louder, particularly w/ muffs open above 4-4.5K rpms. The combo of headers & controller is definately the way to go!
