Default Blower noise

Does anyone know of a quiet centrifugal blower? I've heard a Paxton SL1500 is much quieter than a Procharger but that's not saying much. I've witnessed root style Whipples and Eatons, they are plenty quiet but require a hood change costing around $2000 with paint. Any suggestions for limited noise?

They only require the extra two grand if you're not man enough to cut a hole in your hood.

I guess I'm a woos. I'd be more apt to spend the $2000. Seriously though it looks like the A&A SL 1500 kit is geting the BIG thumbs up.I've not found anyone to say there's a quieter blower on the market than the Vortech they use.

I have the A&A Vortech V3 kit on my car. It's very very quiet when compared to a procharger. With the hood down and engine warmed up, you can barely here a little whistle. And fits under stock hoods! Very stealthy!

ECS sells the paxton 1500. Andy carries the Vortech S&T trims.

Both are light years better than the ATI's in that respect and I dont like noise.

I also dont like ATI for the end-runaround they gave to the two companies (ECS and A&A) that they stole the bracket tech from and then wouldnt sell head units only to forcing them to buy entire kits.

Yes I remember, and will contiunue to support the original source for the stolen technology and from time to time will remind people that two of the biggest FI companies were short shafted by ATI.

Just one word about the Mag s/c....it is far from quiet when you get on it and yes I know first hand.

Well, one of the biggest reasons why no carmaker has brought to market a centrifugally supercharged vehicle, accordng to A. Bell in "Forced Induction Performance Tuning" and Graham Bell in "Supercharged!" is due to the inacceptable noise those blowers make. Now, carmakers are no strangers to noise, and there are ways of quieting down intake noise, such as Hermoltz resonators, but you probably won't find one that is 100% noiseless, since we are talking about an actual gearset that is turning at 50,000+ RPM! Most of the noise comes from the gears themselves; the impeller is no louder than a turbo, and those can be almost completely silenced.
Having said that, Vortech's "SQ" (Super Quiet) line of centrifugal blowers are the quietest superchargers on the market today. The one on my car makes a very faint whistle at idle, virtually inaudible. As the revs grow, it will whine loud enough that I can hear it quietly inside the car if the windows are up, and people on the sidewalk can hear it as I drive by. Then around 2200ish RPMs it will quiet down again and eventually disapear amidst exhaust noise.
You can get somewhat of an idea of how much noise a Vortech SQ makes by searching for it on Youtube. You can start by watching the video of my car

If I was in the S/C market, ATI would not make the list..

Feel free to contact us about our Sc packages with the Paxton SL 1500 and 2200. The are very quiet as far as blower whine, if noise is what your after a nice Tial 50 BOV makes the car stand out very nicely without people asking if there is a problem with the engine.
