I have an 08 as well. Love my vortex, this is the new v2. I did not want the vararam but never owned one to compare it with the v2. I researched this for months even before I got my car, there are tons of threads just on here.

I think both are great but the vararam has proven gains on the track. This has been verified by several forum members.

Thats my two cents. Iv'e owned both--they both work well. Vararam must be installed properly and inspected frequently to insure safe operation.

Just do a search and you'll get all the threads on both. Otherwise this is going to turn into yet another "This one is better" war. I think they are both good systems. Try to see them in person first if you can. Either way I don't think you can go wrong.

The fitting of the VaraRam is not superior but I'll rather have the performance. The fitting issue, more like cosmetic if there is one is a easy fix.

Check it out, I might just be the one responsible (though I hope it isn't perceived that way) for turning it into that right now.

So it somehow has the ability to allow more air and colder air in yet it magically knows how to separate the various debris/particles that might be floating around in/from said more/colder air?

"Ok, cold air will you please step right this way, debris, dust and sand you stop right there fellas! "

"Ok, cold air will you please step right this way, debris, dust and sand you stop right there fellas! No MAJIC!!! The Vortex CAI is a better engineered product. There is a problem with the bad fitting gaskets on the Vararam...It allows debris to bypass the the filter and get into the intake. I'm not saying this will always happen ...but it does happen more often then not. Many satisfied users of the Vararam have resealed there units with 3m tape to alieve this problem. Vararam has recently made some improvements in its fit and they claim its better. I'm not trying not start a war.

I went through the same decision making process you are going through earlier in the year. I ended up with the Vortex. See my post below on the subject.

It's also at the top of the LS3 internal mods (Ed) and LS2 cam only (TonyB) lists as well.

Until there's a back to back comparison of the 2 to prove me wrong, I'm gonna say that there is no way that the Vararam outperforms the Vortex, and only equals it at best.

Air pressure isn't as high directly on the front of the car as it is at the opening for the radiator. Hence the whole reason they made the radiator breathe from that point.

Just because the fastest have one brand doesn't mean that they wouldn't go faster with the other.

Fastest bolt on LS 3 has the BPP Vortex. So enough of all the Bull. There both good! Put them side by side and compare the quality. That's what I did and I made my choice. BPP VORTEX
