I was thinking if I had my present car that I drive now back when I was 18 years old. That would be 25 years ago or around 1983. I remember when the IROC came out and the Grand National too. A 12 second street car back then was fast, very fast. My friend had a gutted 442 with a 454 LS7 crate motor in it that ran 9.90's on slicks. That was a full blown race car. Now there are 9 second corvettes driving TO AND FROM the track with the A/C on and getting 20+ MPG. I hope to be 1 of these corvettes soon.

Just a thread to see the advances in the tech and performances of the present day corvette.

Charlie: I bet you can't wait to be one of those people driving one of those 9 second Vetts to and from the track. Please keep us informed on your ride.

Its crazy. I was in the shop yesterday and even the differences between the LT1 and LSX motors is amazing. We've come a long way. I remember my 69 Chevelle that I thought was fast. Lol the Vette would put bus lenghts on it and still get 27 mpg.
