Question.... I had a 96 LT1 A4... I never had the heads off, it had stock cam, heads, I added 1.6 RR 160 T stat, 3200 Vigilante, 3.73 rear, and lightweight wheels.. I'm asking this because my LT1 was one of the best running "Stock" LT1's at Englishtown..
That LT1 Ran 12.28 @ 110 in Great Air (-300')... My C6 (LS2) has run 12.52 @ 112 on run flats, and 160 T stat..
(Just had a Cartek Tune & Vararam) will test this weekend)
If I stay with 3.15 gearing, and with a Vararam and Pro torque 3000 converter .. also thinking of 1.7 or 1.8 Rockers... but stock cam, and I just got Mickey Thompson DR's do you think I'll be close to or in the 11s'
I am "trying" to avoid spending $4000+ to run consistant 11s..with an LS2 Am I in the ballpark or out to lunch...
IMO, if you're going to do rockers, go with a FAST as well. I have an mn6 and had SLP 1.85 rockers. Not to impressed but the FAST, my car was making good torque under the curve. A ported FAST, even better. Might go well with your converter and gearing set-up. I ran a 7.83 in the 1/8th which was probably a low 12 in the 1/4 mile and I run a locak, po-dunk, redneck, crap track. With your DR's, converter, FAST/rockers, good weather, I think you're in. At least that's my .02.
